Documentary on an Iconoclastic Indian Philosopher, in Production Seeks Research/Production Assistants

New School Graduate, Matthew Dougherty (‘06) is currently directing a documentary on one of the more subversive men of our time, deceased Indian “anti-guru,” U.G. Krishnamurti (not to be confused with his more famous counterpart, Jiddu Krishnamurti). The documentary is a portrait of the polarizing philosopher’s life, told through the spiritual seekers, friends and skeptics who came into contact with him. Revered by some, discounted by others, UG was a vociferous religious critic who denounced the spiritual search as fraudulent, even if to some he represented the embodiment of the very traditions he reviled.

The documentary has been in production for 3 years, and the last round of interviews will be shot starting later this summer.

At this point we are looking for 2 assistants to help research film archives, organization of production schedule, and media management.

If interested please contact Matthew at
