SparkTruck at The New School
On Wednesday September 26, SparkTruck, the educational build-mobile will be joining New School students for a discussion on the importance of hands on learning in schools. SparkTruck is a project of students from Stanford’s Institute of Design, who have packed a truck with high-tech tools like 3D printers, a clay oven, vinyl cuttera and more, as well as low tech tools like scissors, glue, tape. They are taking their truck of supplies around the country and showing students, teachers, and policy makers the importance of making, education and technology. With more school districts slashing budgets for art and other hands on programs, SparkTruck hopes to show through their workshops just how powerful making/tinkering can be. Learn more about SparkTruck at their website. http://sparktruck.org/ .
Come join the discussion and check out the truck anytime between 5-7:30pm in front of 66W 12th/
