Social Media/Online Marketing Internship
Job Path is a nonprofit organization that enables people with developmental
disabilities to lead full and satisfying lives. Since 1978, Job Path has supported
people in their efforts to make choices and achieve increased independence.
We help people find jobs and establish careers, live in their own homes, and
participate in community life. Working in neighborhoods across New York City,
Job Path operates in collaboration with people and their families, employers,
community members, and government partners. We are looking for a part time
(5-10 hours/wk) intern to assist with our social Media/Online Marketing needs.
Reports to: Director of Communications
- Working with Director of Communications to maintain online presence for Job Path through researching social networking resources such as Facebook (‘fan’, ‘like’/causes page) and Twitter and recruiting new members
- Assisting Director of Communications in online promotion of Job Path events, fundraising and research Creating online resources and links to Job Path photos, videos, and print media
- Future: Helping to create an online forum for members to discuss topics of interest such as disability rights issues having to do with employment, housing, relationships, etc.
The social media intern will meet with directors of departments to interview
them and ask them to share success stories. He/she will write drafts of stories
and work with Director of Communication to get them ready for inclusion in bi-
monthly e-newsletter and posting on Facebook. The intern will keep track of
videos and other resources for archives.
Qualifications: Internet research and basic computer skills required.
Knowledge of design software (Photoshop, Illustrator) helpful.
