NEW YORK POST-PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP

PURPOSE:

To provide interns with a unique, hands-on post-production experience at a leading online entertainment company.

DESCRIPTION:

CollegeHumor Originals Post-Production Interns have an opportunity to contribute and work with a team of seasoned video editors and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of post-production.

A typical day of post-production could include:

  • Assistant edit sketches, including ingesting, transcoding, syncing, and logging original videos.
  • Editing outtake reels & behind-the-scenes videos.
  • Edit sketches and work with Directors and Writers in the notes process.
  • Working with many different camera formats including DSLR’s and Red camera workflows.
  • Creating and organizing video production folders.
  • Working in a professional video environment.

For individuals with a strong interest in the process of post-production for television and the web, it’s a great fit. Interns ultimately report to the Director of Post-Production as well as Assistant Editors on a project-to-project basis.

REQUIREMENTS:

Please only apply if:

  • You are currently enrolled in school and can receive college credit for the internship.
  • You can commit at least 4 consistent full-days per week. Hours are 10am-6pm.

Final Cut Studio proficiency is a plus.

After Effects proficiency or any equivalent also a plus.

NEW YORK PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP

PURPOSE:

To provide interns with a unique, hands-on production experience at a leading online entertainment company.

DESCRIPTION:

Production Interns with CollegeHumor Originals have an opportunity to contribute to and learn from a small team where every member is crucial. The internship is divided into equal parts on-set production, in-office pre-production and post-production.  There are also options to focus on specific departments including: production, camera, editing, art, etc.

A typical day of pre-production could include:

  • Attending production meetings and casting sessions.
  • Assisting producers by preparing equipment and paperwork.
  • Learning how to maintain and keep current the online casting/locations database.
  • Traveling with crew members as equipment is secured and returned.
  • Observing the art director as he/she creates the look of each video.

A typical day of production could include:

  • Working with production to prepare the location / studio space for the shoot.
  • Assisting camera, grip and electric departments with basic tasks including slating, camera notes, and securing equipment.
  • Observing a group of professional production crew members working together to solve day to day creative and logistical challenges.

For individuals with a strong interest in the process of production for television and the web, it’s a great fit. Interns ultimately report to the Director of Production as well as Producers and Coordinators on a project-to-project basis.

REQUIREMENTS:

Please only apply if:

  • You are currently enrolled in school and can receive college credit for the internship.
  • You can commit 2 consistent full-days per week. Hours are 10am-6pm on pre-production days. Hours are variable on production days, depending on schedule.

Also, a background in production or related major is strongly preferred but not required.
