Call for Entries: School of Media Studies showcase at backup_festival in Germany

The School of Media Studies has been invited to present a curated showcase of outstanding student work as part of the supporting program of the international short film festival “backup” in Weimar, Germany (May 21-25, 2014), alongside art academies and universities from Poland, Austria, France, and the UK. The focus of the festival are short films and audiovisual media art by students and recent graduates from non-traditional film schools that question the aesthetic and technological boundaries of their medium. This year, the festival received over 2000 submissions from 58 countries for its competition in two categories.

This showcase will be an excellent opportunity to present your work to an international audience of emerging film makers, industry professionals and the general public. Works will be chosen based on their production quality, originality and adherence to the festival profile by a faculty panel.

Please note: Works admitted to the FINE CUTS: 35th Annual Invitational Film Show will automatically be considered.

A small number of students whose work has been chosen for the showcase will receive the opportunity to travel to Weimar, Germany, to represent the School of Media Studies at the festival.
