Dawnja Burris presents paper at the annual ICAS Conference

Dawnja Burris recently presented at the annual Institute for Critical Animal Studies Conference on April 12 at Rice University. Her paper entitled “Animal Instances: Representation of and Relationship with the Non-Human Animal” deals with the ways in which imagery and representation of the non-human animal servers as a site of contact between humans and nature. Through the use of these representations, humans attempt to understand both the human and non-human animal.
