Graduate Research Assistant position available with School of Media Studies faculty Diane Mitchell to collaborate on The Temperament of Space project. This research explores how multi-sensory media can offer visitors meaningful perceptual experiences while they are in a shared public space, for example, airports, libraries, medical facilities. You will gain valuable experience collaborating with professional artists and designing for real world, multimodal events.
This student will be responsible for prototyping responsive environments incorporating our visual and sound designs. We are looking for a motivated, self-directed, reliable, creative individual with experience in interaction design using Arduino, Processing, Max, OpenFrameworks, or similar tools. Compensation is $17.00/hour. Hours are flexible but 10/hours a week for ~ 12 weeks must be completed by mid June.
