Research Assistant Position Open for Media Studies Graduate Student
POSITION AVAILABLE FOR FALL AND SPRING 2016-17
Research Assistant position available for a graduate student in Media Studies with Prof. Sumita Chakravarty to assist with her migration book and website projects. The primary duties are website management and updating, outreach and planning, and research into latest trends and developments. Students with a strong interest in the transnational, in new media history and theory, and in cultural studies more broadly are encouraged to apply. A knowledge of Spanish, Italian, French or German is a plus.
Applicants must have a GPA of 3.8 or higher, have advanced research and writing skills, and a strong knowledge of working with WordPress.
Applicants must be students at the New School through 2016-17 and preferably past their first semester in the program. Appointment will be for two semesters (Fall and Spring) for 8 hours a week for 30 weeks for at approximately $ 17.00 an hour. Hours are flexible and negotiable, depending on qualifications.
