Polish Filmmaker Andrzej Wajda Tribute and Film Comment Selects This February
The Film Society is hosting eleven-film tribute to the late Polish cinema master Andrzej Wajda. The tribute starts this Thursday, 2/9 and runs through 2/19. Film Society will be screening newly-restored films along with the New York premiere of his last film, Afterimage, introduced by film scholar Annette Insdorf. More information is available here.
Following the tribute is an annual series organized by the editors of Film Society’s magazine, Film Comment, entitled Film Comment Selects. The series features works seen at festivals around the world but not yet screened in New York, and rare revival and tribute screenings as well. It’s an eclectic series, featuring genre films, documentaries, and many more with new films from France, Poland, China, Latin America, and even a rare short directed by Paul Newman. More information is available here.
Student discount tickets are available for $11. For more information, visit filmlinc.org/wajda
