Volunteer opportunities – 2017 Latino Film Market
The Latino Film Market (LFM) is an all-volunteer operation, under the collaboration of La Casa de la Herencia Cultural Puertorriqueña, a 37-year old, 501(c) 3 non-profit, cultural and educational organization.
LFM is organizing the 2017 Latino Film Market that will take place on July 26 – 30, 2017 at El Barrio’s Artspace PS 109 and Manhattan Neighborhood Network, in East Harlem, New York. The purpose of the 2017 Latino Film Market is to raise the visibility of Latino filmmakers and stimulate the growth of film production originating from Latin America.
During this event, LFM will provide community-networking opportunities for up-and-coming Latino filmmakers and industry professionals. LFM 2017 will attract over 500 attendees from the local community, Tri-State Area, Latin America, and Europe. There will be live screenings of 40+ independent Latino films that would be recognized at a national and international level creating economic development in the United States and Latin American countries. In addition, LFM will present a comprehensive program filled with film screenings, workshops, photo and art exhibitions.
LFM is inviting SMS students to participate in the 5-day film festival and market that will begin from the 26th of July to July 30th 2017. There will be all kinds of activities in the event, so that film students can participate as volunteers in any event they wish.
However, the participation names should reach out one week prior to the commencement of the event, although participants are encouraged to reach out as early as possible.
