Watch Doc Studies Alumna Maartje Wegdam’s film this Sunday at the Justice Film Festival
Doc Studies graduate Maartje Wegdam (class of 2010) arrives from Amsterdam this week for the international premiere of her feature documentary ”No Place for a Rebel“, co-directed with Ariadne Asimakopoulos. The award-winning film chronicles the re-entry into civil society of a young Ugandan, Opono Opondo, abducted in childhood and forced to become a child soldier in the Lord’s Resistance Army of Joseph Kony. Sixteen years later, the film follows Opono’s fight for his future, while struggling to come to terms with his past and to reconcile with his family and neighbors.
