GIDEST (Graduate Institute for Design, Ethnography & Social Thought) Seeks Project Assistant
GIDEST is seeking a Project Assistant to serve out academic year 2017-18 with potential renewal through 2018-19. The appointment will initially run from October 31, 2017, until June 30, 2018, with the intention of a further one year’s extension. The Project Assistant is involved in all aspects of GIDEST administration but has particular responsibility for organizing the institute’s programming, including its seminars, public events, and fellowship programs, managing the GIDEST lab, liaising with the GIDEST video maker, updating our website and Facebook page, coordinating between the Director and GIDEST fellows, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of all aspects of the program. The position is designed to both draw on and develop the Program Assistant’s research skills and to benefit the Program Assistant through involvement with program administration, and through interaction with the intellectual content of the program and with visiting scholars and practitioners. The Project Assistant reports to the GIDEST Director.
Ideal applicants will be graduate students with prior administrative experience, excellent organizational and writing skills, interest in the themes of our program, and potential availability through academic year 2018-19. The position is 10 hours per week for a 50 week year at a rate of $20/hour.
