Carlos Motta’s Shapes of Freedom Screening on Thursday

In collaboration with Critical & Visual Studies at Pratt Institute, we would like to announce Shapes of Freedom a talk by Carlos Motta. Carlos is a New York based internationally recognized multimedia artist originally from Columbia. In 2015, Carlos Motta countered binary norms by inviting over two hundred trans women, including sex workers and indigenous trans women, to an art space in Guatemala City. This particular group was part of REDMMUTRANS, a multiracial organization that collectively worked against the acute experience of social, racial, and economic discrimination.

Shapes of Freedom will take place on Thursday, February 6 from 5PM to 6:30PM in the Alumni Reading Room, Pratt Institute Library 200 Willoughby Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11205
