Faculty Member Shannon Mattern Has Work Published in “TOMORROWS: Urban Fictions for Possible Futures” Catalog

Faculty member Shannon Mattern, recently promoted to Full Professor, was interviewed about her new book for the This Is Not a Pipe podcast, and her essay on future communication infrastructures was published in the catalog for TOMORROWS: Urban Fictions for Possible Futures, an exhibition held last year at the Onassis Cultural Center in Athens, Greece. In addition, the Finnish Cultural Institute New York recently announced “The Library’s Other Intelligences,” the curatorial fellowship project that she and media scholar Jussi Parikka will be undertaking in Helsinki, in partnership with the Helsinki Central Library, over the next year. To celebrate the launch of that project, she and Parikka will be hosting a discussion on “Alternative AI’s” with the commissioned artists at PUBLICS, an event space in Helsinki, on May 31.
