Faculty Member Shannon Mattern Publishes New Article on Sound Design, Named Library Council Board President
Faculty member Shannon Mattern published a new article on the history of product sound design — from whistling tea kettles and roaring engines to crunchy snacks and beeping apps. You can find “Things That Beep: A Brief History of Product Sound Design” at avant.org. In addition, she was recently named president of the board of the Metropolitan New York Library Council, which provides resources and services to over 280 libraries and archives in the metropolitan region, including museum, public, and university libraries; hospital repositories, independent collections, and more.
