This Week Cinema Tropical Presents ‘Scary Movies XI’, ‘Cosmic, Raving, Lumpen Cinema: The Films of Fernando Birri (Part II)’ and much more

Film Society of Lincoln Center is screening some Latin American horror films from Mexico, Chile, and Brazil as part of their annual film festival ‘Scary Movies.’ Be sure to check out these year’s selection.

Also hitting screens this week is the New York Latino Film Festival, celebrating its 15th anniversary. Make sure to catch its special presentation of features, shorts, and documentaries premiering at this landmark festival – now in its nineteenth year! This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the diversity and scope of Latinx filmmaking right here in New York City.

Finally this week might be your last chance to catch New York Times Critic’s Pick Good Manners on the big screen. The Brazilian horror fairytale by Marco Dutra and Juliana Rojas might just be “one of the best werewolf movies ever made” (Bloody Disgusting), so make your way to the IFC Center before it’s too late!
