Media Studies Faculty Member Shannon Mattern’s Article Published in Progetto Grafico, and more

Professor Shannon Mattern’s article on Silicon Valley furnishings and the environments of digital labor, which was published last year in e-flux, was translated into Italian and published in Progetto Grafico, a leading design culture magazine. Meanwhile, her recent article on hardware stores as social infrastructures and sites of world-making has been translated in to German and published in dérive, a Vienna-based journal. In addition, Shannon will be one of three featured speakers at the “Convening on the Commons,” a public event associated with the Queens International exhibition at the Queens Museum on October 13. And on October 19, she’ll be delivering the annual Sherrer Lecture, “Local Codes: Forms of Spatial Knowledge,” at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR.
