Marketing and PR/Production and Development Internship

Award-winning independent filmmaker Misha Calvert is looking for two interns for the spring semester to help with marketing, pre-production, and production on several digital series. Interns will work in person in Dumbo approximately one day per week and can work remotely the rest of the time.

Dates: Jan 25 – May 15 This is an unpaid internship. Interns will receive a $100 travel stipend and college credit.

Marketing and PR Intern: 1-2 days per week The Marketing and PR Intern will work directly with Ms. Calvert and her Marketing Director to manage communication and promote several digital series launching this year. This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in going into film and TV marketing. Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting communications, email blasts, and social media posts to promote the series.
  • Researching press outlets and media coverage of other digital series.
  • Assistance in planning and executing series viewings and events.
  • Shadow meetings/calls, taking notes as needed.
  • Personal brand strategy/promotion for Ms. Calvert e.g. social media & online presence,

posting schedules, and content creation support.

  • Potential opportunity to work on set as a Production Assistant for a project shooting in

the spring.

Qualifications:

  • Fluent with Instagram and Facebook marketing tools (hashtags, videos, stories, etc).
  • Applicants should be creative, detail oriented, flexible, and have a genuine passion for digital content.
  • GPA 3.0 or higher. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors preferred.
  • Basic camera knowledge and editing experience preferred.

Production and Development Intern: 1-2 days per week The Production and Development Intern will work directly with Ms. Calvert and her assistant, focusing on development, pre-production, production, and distribution for several digital series. This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in holistic understanding of TV/digital show creation and distribution. Responsibilities include:

  • Write a weekly memo for the team that summarizes news in the digital media world and researching various topics as related to series in development.
  • Shadow meetings/calls, taking notes as needed.
  • Occasional errands around NYC.
  • Assisting with marketing department as needed.
  • Potential opportunity to work on set as a Production Assistant for a new series shooting in the spring.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants should be creative, detail oriented, flexible, and have a genuine passion for digital content.
  • GPA 3.0 or higher. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors preferred.
  • Basic camera knowledge and editing experience strongly preferred.
