Puppet and Costume Workshops
In a few weeks, community groups, artists, organizations, sustainability enthusiasts, and LES teens and adults are coming together to join with Earth Celebrations for ECOLOGICAL ARTS’ Puppet and Costume Workshops running March 2 – May 8, every Wednesday 6-9:30pm and Saturday 12-4pm. Sign up to register for these free workshops!
We will be collaborating on spectacular large-scale puppets, costumes, and performances exploring local sustainability sites and climate solution initiatives in preparation for the return of ECOLOGICAL CITY: Procession for Climate Solutions.
Visual and performance projects created through the workshops will be presented in the Procession for Climate Solutions on Saturday May 11, 2019 with 20 site performances celebrating ecological sustainability initiatives throughout the community gardens, neighborhood, and East River Park waterfront on the Lower East Side.
2019 features an inspiring community response with the ESCR-LES Ecosystem of Sustainability – Mobile Mural Project. Participants are invited to help paint the mural during workshops in April, celebrating the community’s vision for its sustainable future and a new East River Park waterfront plan. Ecological City applies Earth Celebrations’ community-based collaborative arts strategies to bring together and celebrate climate solutions and ecological sustainability initiatives throughout Lower East Side, and their important contribution to city and global climate challenges.
Help us cultivate an ecologically sustainable future through joyous affirmation and creative collective action.
