Internship for students with skills in Photography/Documentary/Curatorial

LightField Intern
LightField (@LightFieldFest) is looking for a curatorial assistant intern to help
plan, execute, install, and de-install the third annual LightField Festival, which
takes place in October 5-November 10, 2019, in Hudson, NY at Hudson Hall.
The theme of the 2019 program centers around landscape art and photography
of the Hudson River Valley and tree science being conducted there now via the
photography and video projects of five artists:
• Veronica Sambunaris
• Christopher Griffith
• Laura Bennett
• Aoife Shanahan
The Curatorial Assistant intern would start March 2019 at an agreed-upon date
and work with LightField President Anna Van Lenten and Vice President Saskia
Kahn in Brooklyn, NY.
Qualifications:
• knowledgeable about documentary and art photography
• able to perform social media outreach
• independent worker
• good researcher
• good writer
• interest in graphic design or experience in graphic design is a plus!
Responsibilities:
• write and update @LightFieldFest’s Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook
accounts 3x/week
• draft press releases and other communications materials
• research documentary photography around current theme of Festival
• update Squarespace web site
• organize and archive digital and print materials
• other needs as they arise
Schedule can be flexible to work around candidate’s existing commitments, but
requires 5-10 hours per week during weekday work hours + slightly more during
installation periods.

LightField is a 501c3 based in Brooklyn that runs a multimedia arts festival in
Hudson, NY. The exhibits we showcase focus on the power of lens-based art to
shift perceptions around environmental and social issues.
