To celebrate the release of Nina Khrushcheva’s co-authored book In Putin’s Footsteps: Searching for the Soul of an Empire Across Russia’s Eleven Time Zones, the Graduate Programs in International Affairs and the Executive Dean’s Office of the Schools of Public Engagement invite you to a conversation with Nina Khrushcheva, Professor of International Affairs at The New School.

What is the character of Russia? How and why has Russia been cast as an international villain? What do Russians themselves think of the Kremlin and its current occupant, President Vladimir Putin? How do Russians perceive the world outside its 11 time zones?

Come hear Nina discuss her cultural, emotional, and political journeys in Russia, and illuminate how a writer comes to terms with their own background and beliefs in a conversation with Mary Watson, Executive Dean of the Schools for Public Engagement and Peter J. Hoffman Assistant Professor, Graduate Programs in International Affairs at The New School.
