Doc Studies ’18 Alumna Joy Ernanny’s film “Unveil” to be Screened at Mecal Pro, Barcelona’s Short and Animation Film Festival.

Unveil will have its European festival debut tomorrow, April 14, in the 21st edition of Meco Pro – Barcelona’s Short and Animation Film Festival!

Unveil is one of seven films that will be screened in the WOMART section, which is dedicated to the feminine universe, in all its manifestations and perspectives. In total, 350 short films from 40 countries will be screened in the festival, out of the 5,000 submissions they received this year.

At a time of rising Islamophobia, Muslim women in New York have found a safe haven in a beauty salon. Le’Jemalik is the city’s first female-only parlor, where clients can remove their headscarves and indulge in halal beauty services brought to them by a resilient American Muslim businesswoman.
