Professor Warner’s Media Sales and Sales Management Class Visits Google
Professor Charles Warner’s Media Sales and Sales Management class, that meets on Tuesday evenings, visited the offices of Google in New York on Tuesday, April 23. Abby Jones, the sales lead for Google’s specialty retail vertical, and Sal Schisano, an account manager on Abby’s team, gave the group a tour of the Google sales offices. During the tour Abby and Sal answered the students’ questions about how Google sells to advertisers, how they work in small, self-managed teams they refer to as pods and why Google has been voted the number-one Best Company to Work for in the annual FORTUNE magazine poll for eight the last 10 years. The students were awed by Google’s gourmet cafeterias, coffee and snack bars that are never the 150 feet away from a desk, the fitness gyms and the availability of inexpensive and very relaxing massages.
