11/16: Collaboratory Centennial Symposium: 100 Years of Public Engagement and Scholarship

Saturday, November 16th, 2019, from 10:00 AM-5:30 PM
Theresa Lang Community and Student Center
55 West 13th Street, New York, NY 10011

Are you a faculty member, student, community organizer, researcher, artist, activist, institutional partner or cultural leader ready to engage in some intimate and challenging discussions around how higher education can make the world a better place? Join us in celebrating and critically reflecting upon 100 years of Scholar Activism at The New School, along with Imagining America, and peers across universities, communities, and disciplines.

This symposium will provide a platform to showcase exemplary community-engaged projects, celebrate interdisciplinary partnerships, grapple with new and long-sustained challenges in socially engaged research and practice, and also provide critical reflections with core community cultural organizers on best practices for ensuring equity, reciprocity, and impact in academic-community collaborations.

This event is free and open to all, but space is limited. To secure your spot, please RSVP.
