The Julien J. Studley Graduate Programs in International Affairs is pleased to announce the return of the Dialogues on Global Drug Policy this Fall. Last year, in collaboration with GPIA, the Open Society Foundations’ Global Drug Policy Program hosted a four-part series of talks with the New School Community that explored the impacts of drug policy–from Portugal’s decriminalization efforts to international advocacy efforts, Women’s rights and human security.
The first discussion in the returning series, War on Drugs vs Rights: drug policy as an international challenge and its negative impact on communities will focus on why drug policy is an international issue by exploring how those policies intersect with human rights, indigenous rights, and explore the political economy of international drug policy.
