Alumni TAL SHAMIR, MA Media Studies ’10, will screen Desert of the Real at The Jerusalem Cinematheque, Haifa Cinematheque and the Sderot Cinematheque in Jerusalem and Israel in Fall 2019. The film was made at The New School.
Desert of the Real is a short cinematic manifestation of the Desert of the Real – a critique raised by philosopher Jean Baudrillard in Simulacra & Simulation, about liquidation of the real by the priority of the image.
