SMS Faculty Member Deirdre Boyle Works on Forthcoming Book, “Ferryman of Memories: The Films of Rithy Panh,” To Be Published 2020

Deirdre Boyle, Associate Professor in the School of Media Studies, has been on leave during the fall 2019 semester while working on her forthcoming book, Ferryman of Memories: The Films of Rithy Panh, to be published by Rutgers University Press in late 2020. In September she was a fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Artists and, while in residence, was invited to give a salon talk on Panh’s films at Sweet Briar College in Amherst, Virginia.  Two of her essays will be reprinted in books in 2020:  “Warrior to Warrior: Salomé Lamas’ No Man’s Land” in Murro no Estômago, an art catalog edited by curator Ana Cristina Cachela for The Municipal Galleries of Lisbon; and an essay originally published in 1985 in the College Art Journal, “Subject to Change: Guerrilla Television Revisited,” for an anthology, Video Theories: A Transdisciplinary Reader, edited by Dieter Daniels and Jan Thoden for Bloomsbury Press.
