Bowery Film Festival: Call for Entries

Bowery Film Festival screens edgy, gritty, funny, and bombastic films on the Bowery in NYC. The Bowery is one of the great highways of humanity, of seething life, varied interests, fun, diverse culture, art, and rock-and-roll. Rather than conventional theaters, they screen films in the coolest art galleries, bars, pubs, lounges, and music venues on the Bowery. They believe that art is subjective, so, rather than utilizing a panel of faceless judges, the winners are decided by the audience. They present winners with prizes that support the filmmaking community in NYC, and the neighborhoods surrounding the Bowery. Bowery Film Festival prides itself in being the most radical film festival in New York City.
Due to the unprecedented Coronavirus crisis and the challenging times, Bowery Film Festival is looking for 1 minute shorts in any digital format (including films shot on phones or mobile devices – from documentary to narrative to animation and experimental works) that capture the mood of the global pandemic.
Bowery Film Festival will select the best work and screen it on their Instagram page over the next few weeks. The top 5 films that get most Likes will screen at their 2020 Festival, where they will compete for over $5,000 in prizes.
