Joy Ernanny Receives Nomination for International Emmy Awards

Alumna Joy Ernanny, Doc Studies ’18, is part of the team behind “Allies”, one of four documentaries nominated for this year’s International Emmy Awards in the Current Affairs category. The film was produced by GloboNews, the most watched cable news channel in Brazil, where Joy Ernanny is a producer. 
 
In “Allies”, Brazilian war correspondent Gabriel Chaim was embedded with the Syrian Democratic Forces, led by Kurdish fighters, in the last months of the battle against ISIS. The film also shows the suffering of women and children who escaped the heavy bombardment that targeted Baghouz – ISIS’s last stronghold in Syria. 
 
The award ceremony will be online on September 21, 2020.
