Campus Job Opportunity: Student Assistant, School of Undergraduate Studies
SPE’s School of Undergraduate Studies seeks a reliable, mature graduate student with strong office, social media and WordPress skills to work in the School of Undergraduate Studies starting immediately. The student must be able to work through the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters.
Responsibilities: Assistants work closely with staff and faculty on a variety of tasks. The office assistant’s clerical responsibilities include covering our virtual reception desk; answering phones; assisting students; scheduling advising appointments; and creating Excel and Google docs. A professional demeanor and attention to detail are essential. Communications projects include posting items to WordPress blogs, Facebook and Twitter and also assisting with a Mailchimp newsletter. Some availability in the evenings is desirable to set up and monitor Zoom events.

Ideal candidates will have morning and evening hours and can work 20 hours a week, Monday through Friday.
Minimum Qualifications: Prior office experience. Able to efficiently manage a high volume of email and phone inquiries from students. Proficiency in WordPress, social media, MS Word, Excel and Google docs are essential. Comfortable with all aspects of Zoom. Ability to learn new platforms quickly. This position is NOT open to currently enrolled Bachelor’s Program (SUS) students. All other degree students are welcome to apply. Graduate students preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Federal Work Study (FWS) applicants preferred, but not required. Experience with Mailchimp newsletters is a big plus.
