Junior Collaboration Studio Seeking A Graduate Teaching Assistant

Junior Collaboration Studio is seeking a graduate teaching assistant (TA) to work collaboratively with lead co-teachers Colleen Macklin and Neta Bomani to create a community-centered virtual learning environment for undergraduate students in the Game Design and Creative Technology tracks. TA will be expected to provide:

  • Consistent, critically thoughtful and responsive attention, care and organization
  • Technical support (Zoom hosting, organizing breakout rooms, chat monitoring, etc.)
  • Logistical administration (emailing, sending homework reminders, taking attendance, grading)
  • Class documentation (class recordings, organizing & facilitating collaborative note-taking)
  • Office hours
  • (Optional) at least one proposal for an in-class workshop and/or lecture relevant to themes and topics discussed throughout the semester

We’re looking for someone who has holistic interests not only in games, design and creative tech, but also critical theory of technology, critical race & code studies, disability studies, queer theory, social practice art and participatory aesthetics. Experience with facilitation and experimental pedagogical approaches would be a plus, but not necessary.

Requirements:

  • Must be matriculated full-time (i.e., enrolled in courses or maintaining status) in the semester(s) in which they will be Teaching Assistants;
  • Must be within the time limit for attaining their degree;
  • Must not have more than 33 perfect of attempted course credits marked as incomplete;
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or above; and if in a master’s degree program, must be on track to complete 50 percent of their master’s degree program by the end of the spring 2021 semester
  • Have a social security number
