Assignment: Developing the market for global Black film & TV content Start Date: June 1, 2021
Mark Walton, President of Sales & Marketing for One Caribbean Television and Part-time Assistant Professor in the Media Management Program at The New School is seeking two (2) summer interns to work on a series of initiatives to help develop the market for film and TV content created by Black media practitioners living around the globe.
One assignment will be to contribute to the ideation, research, production, and promotion of a webinar to be presented at the virtual edition of Pavillon Afriques during the 2021 Cannes Film Festival in July 2021.
The eight-week internship will begin June 1, 2021.
Both candidates must be comfortable creating presentations in PowerPoint for a Zoom session. At least one of the candidates should have a basic knowledge of producing and editing. At least one of the candidates should have some experience with website design and digital marketing.
Both candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be social media savvy and be resourceful.
The ideal candidates will have a keen interest in and experience with the Black media and entertainment sector and possess a global media business perspective.
The ability to attend a few in-person meetings in New York City is desirable. Some knowledge of French is a plus, but not required.
