New York WILD Film Festival Seeks Coordinator

The New York WILD Film Festival (WILD) showcases international films about exploration, adventure, wildlife conservation and the environment. Through a weekend of film screenings, panels and special events, WILD is a platform to inspire, educate and empower people.

The 8th annual NY WILD Film Festival will be held the end of February 2022 at The Paley Center for Media and The Explorers Club.

Festival Coordinator Job Description: Full time independent contract position This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in documentary films, wildlife, conservation and the outdoors. The position involves a variety of duties related to planning and execution of the film festival including marketing and communications and sponsorships. Works in close collaboration with the Festival Director to organize all logistics from recruiting film submissions through to the practical management of the festival.

Communications:

● Organize & maintain contact lists: filmmakers, audience, sponsors

● Social Media: Create and maintain content for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter

● Coordinate newsletter to share announcements and major updates (MailChimp)

● Update and maintain festival website throughout (WordPress)

● Assist in the production of materials for press releases

Preparation:

● Research and recruit films for call for submissions

● Manage volunteers to review film submissions

● Schedule meetings with festival jury members and Festival Director to curate festival program

● Gather and organize film materials (stills, synopses, credits) from filmmakers for festival program, website, social media and press

● Liaise with filmmakers to answer their questions in tandem with Director

Event coordination: Preparation and On-site

● Oversee festival on-site volunteers

● Coordinate travel for filmmakers and special guests

● Communicate with venues to organize event logistics

● Manage and oversee ticket sales

● Develop Goodie bags for special guests

Administrative:

● File and submit invoices for vendors

● Management of festival records

Skills:

● WordPress

● Mailchimp

● Eventbrite

● Social Media: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter

● Google Drive

● Word, Excel, PowerPoint

● Knowledge of Adobe Applications, a plus
