The New York Times is looking for young writers.

From the New York Times:

“Let’s be honest. There aren’t a ton of college students and recent grads around the newsroom at The New York Times. That’s a problem! Your voices need to be heard if we’re going to better understand what’s important to our younger readers.

We want to explore issues that you and your friends would like to see in The Times. We want to provide a platform for your stories and perspectives. To accomplish both of these goals, we need more of, well, you!

That’s why we’re looking for five young writers to be correspondents for The Edit, a New York Times newsletter for students and people early in their careers.

This year, we hope to spotlight an essay by one of the correspondents in each issue of the newsletter. One week this piece might be about something in the news and the next it might be about something in their lives. Each correspondent will contribute several times throughout the year.”

  • What’s the best thing you’ve read this week?
