Documentary Editing Fellowship looking for applicants

THE KAREN SCHMEER FILM EDITING FELLOWSHIP WAS CREATED IN 2010 TO HONOR THE MEMORY OF GIFTED EDITOR KAREN SCHMEER. OUR MISSION IS TO SUPPORT AN INCLUSIVE GROUP OF DOCUMENTARY FILM EDITORS THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT HELP THEM GROW AS ARTISTS AND BUILD THEIR COMMUNITY. BY INVESTING IN EDITORS, WE AFFIRM AND STRENGTHEN THE CRITICAL ROLE EDITORS PLAY IN INDEPENDENT DOCUMENTARY STORYTELLING.

AS THE ONLY DOCUMENTARY EDITING FELLOWSHIP IN THE UNITED STATES, WE HAVE ANNUALLY AWARDED YEAR-LONG FELLOWSHIPS TO EMERGING EDITORS SINCE 2010. IN 2018, WE LAUNCHED OUR DIVERSITY IN THE EDIT ROOM PROGRAM.
