SMS Alum Karen Sepulveda Making Rounds with her New Web Series “Bodegaverse”.

Recent SMS graduate Karen Sepulveda has been making the rounds with her new web series “Bodegaverse”.

Bodegaverse is a satirical dark-comedic web-series set in a Bronx bodega and follows two store clerks through their day as they track down their boss’ bodega cat who mysteriously goes missing.

On May 5th, Bodegaverse previewed their series at The New School to a crowd of over 100 attendees. The event also held an entrepreneur panel featuring The Bronx Brand, No Carne, From the Bronx, Blactina and Kay Love from The Boogie Down Collective. Students were introduced to grassroots fundraising, community building, and business development through a Bronx lens.

Bodegaverse was then selected to participate in the 40th Annual Fine Cuts Film Show where they won the Audeince Award. Karen was recently featured on Bronxnet to promote the series and her other comedic works.

To learn more about the project and to see the full episodes, follow @bodegaverse on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube, and watch the Bronxnet interview featuring Karen below .
