The Voice of the Village: Fred W. McDarrah Photographs
Through December 1

Examine New York City through the lens of The Village Voicephotographer Fred W. McDarrah. The exhibition features images of cultural icons such as Allen Ginsberg, Andy Warhol, and Bob Dylan, and focuses on the agitation for civil rights and anti-Vietnam War demonstrations.#VoiceOfTheVilliage

PRIDE: Photographs of Stonewall and Beyond by Fred. W. McDarrah
Through December 31

As part of the national celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, this selection of images captured by Fred W. McDarrah illustrates the initial Stonewall uprising, portraits of significant figures in the LGBTQ rights movement, and photographs of pride marches, protests, and public events.

City of Workers, City of Struggle: How Labor Movements Changed New York
Through January 5, 2020

Follow the social, political, and economic story of the city’s diverse workers and their movements through rare documents, artifacts, and footage.#CityOfWorkers

Cycling in the City: A 200-Year History
Through October 6

Blue Man Group: Ready…Go!
On view July 19

In 1991, a trio of bald, blue, and silent figures took up residence downtown in the Astor Place Theatre, and ever since, the group has been captivating audiences young and old with their curiosity, strangeness, and inclination to turn even the most mundane of objects—PVC tubing—into a musical instrument. We invite you to bang on a tube while you take a look at the world through the eyes of the Blue Man and learn about the group’s New York City origins.
