Join the School of Media Studies for a book chat with SMS Faculty Member Charles Warner. Special guests will include Media Assembly CEO Michael Bassik, former ESPN President and founder of the Media Management Program, Bill Grimes, and iSocrates CEO, Bill Lederer, all of whom will answer questions from participants. From the Media Management Program Michelle Materre, Linda Saint Marc, and Neyda Martinez will introduce the guests and guide questions.

SMS Faculty Charlie Warner’s Media Selling: Digital, Television, Print, Audio and Cross-Platform will be the discussion topic. The textbook is now available on Amazon.

Media Selling: Digital, Television, Print, Audio, and Cross-Platform was originally published in 1986 with the title Broadcast and Cable Selling.  It was changed to Media Selling for the third edition.  For two decades, Broadcast and Cable Selling served students and professionals in the broadcast and cable industries as an indispensable tool for learning, training, and mastering the art and science of selling.

The textbook has been adopted by over 70 colleges and universities in America and internationally over the years, including Brigham Young University, Howard University, Louisiana State University, Michigan State University, Penn State University, Temple University, University of Central Florida, University of Indianapolis, University of Michigan, University of Vermont and Virginia Tech.

Charles Warner is an assistant professor in the Media Management program at The School of Media Studies at the New School. Until he retired in 2002, he was Vice President of AOL’s Interactive Marketing division, and before joining AOL, he was the Goldenson Endowed Professor at the Missouri Journalism School where he taught media management and sales, and he created and ran the annual Management Seminar for News Executives.

Charlie is also an active blogger known as the Media Curmudgeon. He writes about current issues in media and politics.
