Ruff Cuts

RUFF CUTS is a monthly opportunity for New School students to exhibit and discuss their media works in progress

Ruff Cuts is managed by a member of the SMS faculty and supported by a team of current students. The sessions are open to any graduate or undergraduate degree student who would like to receive constructive faculty and peer feedback on a film, video, multimedia, or other work in progress, or who would like to participate in the viewings and discussions without entering a project for exhibition.

Media works in any format are welcome (e.g., film, video, audio, website, performance). Six to nine works are showcased at each RUFF CUTS event, time permitting. Media Studies faculty members attend each session and contribute to a dialogue/critique with the students who are sharing their media works in progress.
